Ira beach is one of the four beaches of Porto Rotondo, 15 km far from Olbia.
It is located in Punta Nuraghe, which divides Porto Rotondo Gulf from the one of Cugnana. There are two beaches, one bigger on the right side and one smaller on the left. Its water is clear and blue.
A white and fine sandy shore with emerging rocks characterizes this beach. Its beauty is known all over the world and it is the best-preferred destination for many VIP’s. Princess Ira Furstenberg who used to live there in one of the villas coasting the beach in fact loved this beautiful place.

How to get there (click here): from Olbia, continue along the SS 125 towards Palau. After 7,2 km, turn right towards Costa Smeralda on to the SP 73. After 1,8 km, turn right. After 3 km, turn left towards Porto Rotondo. At the entrance of the village, turn left towards Rudargia. The beach is 1,2 km further on.

| Porto Rotondo is situated in the northeastern part of Sardinia, in Cugnana Gulf. This Village was created by two counts, Luigino e Nicolò Donà Delle Rose, and it was built in a perfectly circular bay (rotondo means circular). At first a hotel was opened, then some Italian celebrities, enchanted by the wonderful landscape built their villas there, and became a very exclusive summer resort, frequented by the Italian jet-set. |
