The beach of Santa Maria Navarrese is located in front of the homonym village, in the province of Ogliastra.
The beach is in front of the church Vergine Assunta built in the 1052 and south of the Torre Saracena; it is an enchanting bay sheltered from the wind and edged by red igneous rocks. Behind the beach there is a beautiful pine forest. From the tourist harbour you can hire rubber dinghiesor boats to reach in a short time the beaches of Cala Goloritzè, Cala Mariolu, Cala Biriola, Cala Sisine and Cala Luna.

Tourist attractions

Santa Maria Navarrese is a seaside resort, situated in the eastern coast, about ten kilometres far from Baunei. This area is characterized by beautiful coves, reachable by sea. The town is gathered around the beautiful church of Santa Maria Navarrese, built over the ruins of an eleventh century church.
Next to the church there is a huge and thousand-year olive tree. Nearby the coast a XVII century tower stands. About ten kilometres far from the town there is a steep carsick pothole (295 metre deep). In the surrounding there is the country-church of San Pietro (XVIII century), and, in front of it, a menhir stands.
