Posada is a small town located on the middle-eastern coast of Sardinia, in the Province of Nuoro. There are three beaches in the municipality of Posada: the beaches of Orvili, Su Tiriarzu and San Giovanni. The beach of Orvili is few kilometres long and is situated close to the mouth of Rio Posada and pond Longo. Its sand is light and coarse, and the dunes at the back are covered with sweet-smelling vegetation. The beach of Su Tiriarzu is situated just after the ponds Tondu and Longo, its sand is light and fine and is surrounded by Mediterranean scrub. The beach of San Giovanni is located in the small outlying sea hamlet having the same name, about two kilometres from Posada. Overlooked by the Aragonese Tower, with a green pine-wood at the back, its sand is fine and light. Posada's beaches are never crowded, even during the summer, and since they are quite windswept they are also the perfect location for surfers.
How to get there (click here): take the S.S 125 from Olbia towards Siniscola, or the road to Ovilò – San Teodoro. From San Teodoro, just after the outlying hamlet of Suaredda, keep going along the Posada – Nuoro clearway and take the exit for Posada Mare. The beaches are just few minutes from the village and can be easily reached as they are well-signalled. Many services are available.
