 | The place where more than others past memories are preserved is the centre of the island, where it is possible to meet women dressing typical clothes . The ceremony dress is reach in colours, gold-lace embroidery, gold and jewels and is still used in the solemn events, like religion festivity and marriages. But it’s not unusual if you go to a little town called “ Busachi” , nice village, where houses are made by a local pink- coloured stone, to see women traditionally dressed and wearing the famous orange handkerchief.

| Inland, it is rude to photograph people without asking their permission. Dress discreetly – covering legs and shoulders – in churches. Greet shaking hands, kissing cheeks only when intimate. Sardinia is safe but you should comply with common sense rules. Be careful in general. When traveling alone, especially for women, avoid isolated places and hotels. Find one near the place where you are going to spend the evening as to avoid wandering late, especially in small towns. Women should dress modestly, especially inland. |
