Bosa
Bosa SardiniaBosa is situated in the western coast , not far from the sea, in the Valley of the Temo river. That runs across the town from the east to the west. Thanks to the fertility of its soil and to its good position, this town has been inhabited since the most ancient times and has gone through quite prosperous periods, as we can see from its nice buildings.

Bosa SardiniaGoing through Bosa’s main street, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, that runs parallel to the river, you can admire the main historical buildings of the town.Nearby Ponte Vecchio you can see the Immaculate’s Cathedral, that dates back to the XV century. But was rebuilt in the XVIII century, and where Madonna with Enfant Jesus is kept; the Rosary’s Church, and a nice square surrounded by Delitala and Don Carlo palaces. Going on, you can come across Carmine’s Church and its convent that now has become the seat of the town hall.

Harbour Bosa SardiniaTowards the other riverside, nearby the sea, there are the ancient tanneries (Sas Conzas) that have been made national monument. In the other part of the town, on the top of a hill, there is the ancient Malaspina castle, built in 1112. Today only its outside walls and the towers have remained, while the northern tower, made in red trachyte, was rebuilt in the XIV century. This complex, where the church of Nostra Signora de Sos Regnos Altos, that houses some beautiful Aragonese freascoes, is settled, was anlarged and strengthened during the Aragonese domination.

Bosa Beach Sardinia On the slopes of the hill where the castle is, there is the quarter where the Medieval origins of the town are Bettener conserved: sa Costa; here there is the Capuchin monastery and the churches of Sant’Antonio Extra Muros (XVI century) and of Saint Peter, the former Cathedral. Five kilometres far from the town, along the road that leads to Alghero, there is the Argentina tower, built by the Spanish to protect the coast from the barbarian raids.
