 | The surroundings are very rich in archaeological sites, like the sanctuary of San Salvatore di Sinis (IV century A. C.), at first a pagan temple then used as a catholic church. A bit further on you will find the church of San Giovanni di Sinis, one of the oldest Christian buildings of the island. The three ponds of the surrounding area, Cabras, Mistras and Peschiera Pontis, are rich in fishes (sea breams, basses, soles) and birds. In the northern part of the Sinis peninsula, about ten kilometres from Cabras, there is the pond of Sale’s Porcus.

 | During the summer, this pond, became recently nature reserve, is a natural habitat of aquatic birds and flamingos. Not far from here the ruins of Tharros, ancient Phoenician trade centre (XI-VIII century a. C.), stand.
