The structure, designed by the well known architect Antonio Simon Mossa, was built in 1957 and opened in 1976. The building, located on a slope of S. Onofrio hill that overlooks Nuoro and Orgosolo valley, reconstructs a typical Sardinian ambient. The rooms houses Sardinian traditional dresses (especially from the central area of the island), jewels, carpets, breads and sweets; an area of the museum is dedicated to the masks of the Barbagia masks. The visit takes about 1 and a half hour Opening time: October, 1st –June, 14th : 9 .00 - 13.00/15.00 -19.00 (holidays inclusive) June, 15th - September, 30th : 9.00 – 20.00 (holidays inclusive).
