EASTER IN SARDINIA: THE HOLY WEEK IN BOSA Bosa NU [Nuoro]
| |
|
| |
During the week before Easter, Bosa offers striking and touching moments: rituals start on Monday and they end on Saturday night. On Tuesday afternoon the Procession of Mysteries takes place, the ancient simulacrum is carried from the the Church of Santa Croce to the Cathedral; on Thursday stately sepulchres are set up in the churches and opened to visitors all night long; on Friday morning the procession starts from the Church Il Carmelo and goes to the cathedral where we can assist to the representation of the Crucifixion. The evening, after the sepulchre deposition, followers come back to the Church of the Carmine to venerate the simulacrum of Christ. The Bosa Chorus sing during the three processions. |
