Easter in Castelsardo. The Lunissanti sacred representation starts the Holy Week. It is a no liturgic enchanted cerimony. Its cultural elements refer to medieval traditions which come to life again in beautiful polyphonic songs, but it is also rich in pathos and spanish theatrical taste.
The main characters are the members of the fraternal order of Oratorio di Santa Croce in Castelsardo which are dressed in white habits as a sign of espiration. These members guide the procession to the church of "N.Signora di Tergu" till the sunset. A solemn cerimony ends this religious day, when the chorus give a proof of their skill.
CALENDAR:
Holy Monday, " Lu Lunissanti": at the dawn, first mass at the Santa Maria de Tergu church, and then a procession to the Castelsardo's and the way back.
Around midday: lunch in the field around the church.
Middle afternoon: new procession up to Castelsardo, from where it leaves again at the sunset for the church.
Holy Thursday : Procession.
Holy Friday: "S'Iscravamentu", deposition from the Cross of Christ's sacred image.
