A rite called "S'Incontru" is celebrated in Oliena on Easter Sunday: the most sincere faith appointment for this community. The Jesus and Madonna images, coming from different streets, are led by the confraternities to Piazza di S.Maria.
Young girls wear the wonderful gold and embroideries- embellished costumes.
Bells ring, people shoot in the air from balconies to announce Jesus's resurrection. Faithful and tourists crowd the main square, they like enjoying the beauty of this event.
After the rite, both processions reach the parish church, where the High Mass is celebrated. After the celebration, typical dances are performed and wine and sweets are offered to everybody as hospitality and welcome.
