 | Calasetta is located in front of Carloforte, in the South-west Sardinia, on the north-western coast of Sant’Antioco island that belongs to the Sulcis archipelago. Like Carloforte, Calasetta has been founded on the XVIII century by a group of Ligurian emigrants, coming from the Tunisian island of Tabarka. Nowadays, it is a farm-fishing centre from where it is possible to embark for the island of San Pietro. |

 | The plan of the village is regular, with low constructions and a beautiful church in Baroque style. In the village, a coastal tower, the tower of Canai, stands, overlooking the gulf of Palmas. The surroundings are very interesting, with beautiful creeks that alternate with steep cliffs, like Nido Passera, Cala Lunga, Cala Saboni and, finally, Capo Sperone, ending point of the island. The nearest beaches are Sottotorre, Le Saline and the equipped Spiaggia Grande beach.
