 | Between the two main cities Oristano and Cagliari, Sanluri has always been lucky and prosperous thanks to its position, strategic both in a military and economical side. The land of the town extends for 90 kilometres and it is hill in the north-western area and level on the southern part. Its economy, once agricultural- pastoral, nowadays is developed in small industries, trade and services. |

 | Sanluri boasts different tourist opportunities to the visitors: the most important is the Middle Age Castle, the only fortress still possible to visit in Sardinia; the village that extends toward the southern side of the castle has been restored and it is very nice to walk through its narrow cobbled paving streets. A very interesting occasion to visit the village is the “Festa del Borgo”, the Feast of the Village, that joins the beauty of the place to the colours of this traditional festival. In occasion of this event, that usually takes place at the end of September, all the village opens its doors to the tourist to discover again the ancient house of the old centre, the flavours and taste of the typical cuisine and traditional handicraft. Other interesting place not to be missed are the Ethnographical Museum of Capuchins, some very old churches (San Pietro, San Lorenzo e San Martino) and the Parrish church of Nostra Signora delle Grazie, that keeps some precious works of sacred art recently restored and now exposed to the public.
The castle Eleonora d'Arborea: The castle is opened to the public and is particularly interesting because it is one of the best-preserved Medieval fortresses in Sardinia. The castle itself is built on a regular, square plan and stands inside a fortress, which is enclosed by 1,550 m. of defence walls 4.5 metres high. 15 towers dominate the whole area, which covers 16 hectares, four of which stand guard at the entrances to the fortress.
