MONTE ALBO - PUNTA CATRINA This excursion will take you to one of the most beautiful and renowned places of the enchanting calcareous cordillera of Monte Albo in Lula: Punta Catirina, 1127 of height. We will go possibility to go through one of the most uncontaminated, wild and panoramic areas of the mountain chain. We will admire the “primordial” and typical sardinian sheep sheds called “Sos Pinnetos” and the caves where in the pre-historic era people used to live. The pathway is composed of old mule tracks and lunar rocks that make this excursion more enchanting. The forest will give place to charming lunar rocks. In the uncontaminated forest area (fortunately nor fires nor deforestation phenomena took place in this area), we may have the chance to admire the king of this mountain: the muflon living in these places. With a stroke of luck we may see the rare “Bonelli’s eagle” but also kestrels, buzzards, choughs, Bedriaga’s rock lizard and some secular badgers (taxus bacata). An unforgettable excursion!!
