| | No danger with snakes! |
| |
 | Sardinian fauna is caracterised by the total absence of poisonous reptiles. You could walk in the thick vegetation without fear!
During your trekkings you could often meet, above all near the stone walls (so typical in Sardinia!)some specimens of reptiles that found in the island the perfect habitat. The "biscia" (grass snake), an harmless snake very common in the island, the "lucertola campestre" (country lizard)or the "Gongilo Occellato" (that is present with a specimen that lives only in Sardinia, called"Tiligugu")are some of the noumerous reptiles that populate the island, all absolutely innocuous.

| | WATCH THE BITES! |
| |
 | During summer we suggest not to walk in brushwood because of ticks, an annoying insect whose bites could cause infections, sometime very serious. If you notice that you have a tick on, don't panic! Don't be in a hurry to remove it, but just follow our easy suggestion.
First: cover the tick with oil or something greasy (the tick breathes with its skin so it will die of suffocation and it will be easier to remove it)
Second: Remove it with a pair of tweezers or with hands. In this way it won't leave its beak on your skin, causing an annoying granuloma.
Obviously after the removal it's Bettener to go to the doctor, just to be sure that it's all ok!
