This mines arts Museum in Iglesias, born in 1871, develops on three floors and keeps tools for the exercises of enrichment of minerals and mines arts of very important historical value. A didactic gallery connected with underground rooms will become soon the “Museo delle mineralizzazioni” of the Sardinian mines. In the vestibule pictures of the mine’ life and designs of mechanics parts done by the pupils of the institute at the beginning of the century are kept.
The museum keeps also numerous kinds of minerals, fossils and archaeological mine’s finds both didactic and museum.
Opening time:
May to June (only Saturday and Sunday): 18:00 – 20:00
July to September (Friday to Sunday): 19:00 – 21:00
October to April: visits only upon request. |
