It is always mild, even in wintertime, so you can visit whenever you like throughout the year.
Spring and Autumn are probably the best seasons for visiting the Forests and the Lakes of the island. Sweet April-November climate lets you bathe and avoid the hot climate, above all during the excursions.
The island reaches its peak from March to May when flowers start blooming and the scrub is greener than ever.

Sardinia is also synonymous of water sports, among these sail, wind-surf, wave-surf and by the time the claimed Kitesurf, (since 1999 it has had a great growth, on the Italian beaches).
Everyone can practice them in every period during the year thanks to winds which blow quite strong and go through all the coastal perimeter of the island. You cannot miss the September wind event: The kite and Windsurf Festival, in San Teodoro.
Moreover the peculiar characteristic of some of these winds create also waves that can be surfed almost every day of the year. It’s not a chance that Sardinia has been defined as “the Mediterranean Hawaii”, mentioned in a very famous surf guide.
Sardinia and climbing is also another one binomials and represent by the time a splendid reality. The island is imposing its image of a one of the most beautiful and fascinating land to practice this sport. There have only an embarrassingly wide of choice. |
