Health is everything.... |
|
Dial 118 if you need an ambulance.
In emergency (including teeth care) go to the first aide station.
Emergency care is free for all foreigners.
For non-emergency treatment, EU citizens have free care, but they should submit the E111 form (they should apply for it to their native health service before leaving).
For Australian citizens, there is an agreement with Italy for free treatment via their “Medicare care”.
New Zealand, US, Canada and other citizens pay for non-emergency care, however some may be included in their Travel Insurance. |
|
Climate, insects, jellyfish are the main causes for health problems.
Avoid excessive sun exposure and drink liquids to regain mineral salts, especially when hot, to avoid collapse or sunburn.
Should anything happen, go to the hospital and do not under evaluate the situation or seriousness of the illness. Always use a protective suntan lotion (even when cloudy) to avoid skin burn, a lotion for protection from insect bites and an antihistaminic which may alleviate itchiness caused by jellyfish burns and insects that are abundant especially during the summer. |
